When my best friend and assistant, Sophie, booked a shoot with Autokorekt and VersaceSounds, I knew we were in for another evening of ragtag shenanagins. With Autokorekt flying in from San Diego and VersaceSounds from Salt Lake City, the two DJs—who had worked together before—were more than down to link up with us for a quick shoot before their show at Bounce Empire. We set out to Valmont Butte, an abandoned spot outside Boulder, where we found the perfect setting: a weathered grain silo and a rundown shack, both perfect for the gritty, industrial energy we were looking for. As always, shooting was a blast—equal parts creativity and chaos, making sure we didn’t walk away with tetanus while navigating the decaying structures. With only an hour to work before showtime, we made the most of every minute, capturing some raw, grungy magic before making out like a band of thieves.
