Poser

This shoot was a delightful blend of humor and creativity, inspired by a funny little backstory. Months before, my dear friend Brie had taken part in a photoshoot with a former male photographer friend, only to never receive the final images (hence the use of the word former). Determined to recreate the concept—but through my signature application of the female gaze—we set out to give her the moody, polished portraits she deserved. This shoot was a notable indication of simple beauty that can be accomplished with a simple black backdrop & studio lights in a friend’s basement. I’ve always commended Brie on her flawlessly symmetrical face and ability to execute playful poses with nuance and ease, which was all that was needed to create something that felt both striking and intimate. This shoot was not only a testament to resourcefulness but also a charming triumph over past frustrations, proving that sometimes, the remakes truly do outshine the originals.
