Throwbacks

This collection of throwback portraits is a glimpse into my early work, filled with raw experimentation and moments that still hold a special place in my heart. Looking back on these allows me to see how much I’ve grown and how far I’ve come. The first set features my very first college friends Taylor and Aidan in a room of our student housing, which served as a blank canvas for vibrant student art—these moody, over-edited portraits were some of my first attempts at creating atmospheric images and the initial indications of my signature cinematic style. The second set showcases minimalist headshots of Alyssa, where I focused on highlighting her simple yet striking African beauty. Next, there are somber and haunting photos of my friend April taken in a cemetery—her dark elegance matched perfectly with the setting, adding a unique depth to the shoot. Finally, I’ve included a few random favorites of my friends Michaela and Rachel from my first year of college, moments frozen in time that remind me of the carefree beginnings of my photographic journey. Though small in number, these images were crucial steps in my evolution as a photographer and I’m grateful to have captured them.
